There are different kinds of applications and
tools through which you can easily convert handwritten material into electronic
text and paste it onto Notepad, Microsoft Word, or PDF files. The text that you
want to convert into soft form doesn’t necessarily be in the form of
handwriting form as it may be a piece of paper with text written, a book, a
handbill, an advertisement, etc. You just need to capture it on your mobile
camera and apply the desired action.
But the problem is that such apps and tools the
majority of them have very complicated operations and sometimes they are not
perfect to perform your desired function as some have irregular typos while
others have formatting oddness. In some cases, these apps perform great but
only with clear text or neat handwriting, not vice versa.
Following is the list of those apps and tools
that we examined ourselves and can give a precise about their usage and
functions.
Use any Apple Device to Convert the Handwritten Text into Digital Text
If you possess an Apple device there is no need
to install any app on your phone to convert handwritten text and copy because
you just need a picture of the desired document. After that, press and hold the
image to extract and copy the text from it. It works with the same passion as
writing text on a website.
After mining the text out of a picture, you can
easily copy and paste this text into the place of your choice.
Although, in some cases, you may need to adjust the settings before using it. Moreover, this function is not restricted to the iPhone only, as it may also be operational on the Mac operating system on the Laptop.
Convert the Handwritten Text into Digital Text With Microsoft Lens
For example, if you own an Android mobile phone
and want to convert the text on the page into digital form you can use the
Microsoft Lens which can also work best on iOS. Microsoft Lens is an easy
method to scan documents employing your Smartphone coupled with another tool
used for copying the scanned text.
Here is a step-by-step
method to use it:-
- Open the Microsoft Lens app press the Actions icon on the screen bottom and then go to the Capture printed text to extract option which comes automatically after you press the Action icon.
- In the second step capture this picture and the Microsoft Lens will suggest you crop out the undesired material out of this document, and then take out the text from this picture in the form of digital text.
- In the third step, press the Copy icon to move your desired text which you can paste or save anywhere you like.
Convert the Handwritten Text into Digital Text Using Google Docs
This most efficient and professional method,
although a bit technical way to convert your handwritten or printed material
into text form which I prefer to use.
Here is a step-by-step
method to use it:-
- Take a picture of your image containing handwritten or printed text and then upload it to Google Drive.
- Then select the image in Google Drive by clicking the Right-click.
- Then press "Open" followed by Google Docs.
- Copy handwritten text using Google Docs
- After this, there will appear after a short time loading the screen, and then there will appear a new writing in the form of digital text just below the image.
- The extracted text from the image will need some formatting settings but it’s completely feasible. Extracting the text out of the image using the Google Docs method is ideal in those cases where a large size of data needs to be extracted and shared with other people instantly.
